Interesting moment in my day! I was thinking about all the things I need to return today, and shop for and pick up. I was suddenly overwhelmed with a wave of abhorrence for modern life.
Just as suddenly, I found myself projected into some other future where I was still conscious and “me”, but without a body. In that moment, as if from this different place, I understood I was going to love the other forms of me to be, and the freedom they afforded.
I came out of it, less afraid of death than ever, and with the notion that I didn’t have to wait until then for more freedom. I could learn different habits than I’ve got! That would also do the trick of freeing up my day.
This moment reminds me of two other moments I had of consciousness-expanding experiences. They are cheery because they make one hopeful about the future!
The first one was a result of being projected into the future by author Dr. Helen Wambach, a parapsychology researche. The session’s most profound moment took place quite far in the future, and it was when I was paying someone for food at an open air market. The amount of emotion, love, and good feeling that exchange generated was so powerful, it woke me up from my trance. My body couldn’t take the level of love people could feel somewhere in the future.
The second moment came about when I caught some horrifying tragedy displayed in the news. I started yelling to my surprise over and over, “What’s going to end this?”. And suddenly my consciousness expanded into a completely new state of mind where I felt myself become everyone, a consciousness all connected. I understood that with this level of identification and connection with everyone and everything, “I” would not do the horrifying things being done.
These momentary glimpses always show me the potential for harmony in the world, and what it’s like to freely roam in it. It’s a world that respects the power of love. I believe we are all learning about love here, and that it feels better to choose it, no matter how hard the lessons.
