The resort’s history is closely tied to the mining boom in the region during the late 1800s. In the late 1800s, the town of Dunton was established as a mining town.
As with many mining towns, Dunton’s prosperity was short-lived. By the early 20th century, the mining industry began to decline, and the town’s population dwindled. Eventually, the mines were no longer profitable, leading to the abandonment of the town.
Today, Dunton Hot Springs is a renowned luxury resort that offers a unique blend of historic charm and modern comfort.
The Dunton Hot Springs describe their springs as a calcium bicarbonate composition, enriched with a potent infusion of dissolved iron and manganese, along with a subtle touch of lithium.

They describe bicarbonate-rich waters as being able to help aid in the dilation of peripheral blood vessels, enhancing blood circulation to the body’s outermost regions. Moreover, the magnesium content actively converts blood sugar into energy and fosters the maintenance of radiant and nourished skin.
We offer five ways to take to the waters, which range in temperature from 85°F to 106°F: inside the restored 19th century Bathhouse, under the stars at the source, in the pool outside the Bathhouse, in the pool behind the Dunton Store cabin and inside Well House cabin.
Dunton Hot Springs offers a range of luxurious accommodations, including charming log cabins, rustic chic tents, and fully renovated farmhouses.
